LED Strip Light

The LED strip light is the illumination solution for the environmentally conscious workplace. Using traditional lighting systems in a large office space is not only environmentally irresponsible; it is also a poor financial decision.

The LED strip light replaces the traditional model as a longer lasting alternative that uses less power to function. The LED bulb outlasts the incandescent bulb; in fact it will last 50 times longer. Not only that, but if you look at the price per kWh, the incandescent will be 10 times more expensive to run. Knowing all of this information, why do people still use incandescent bulbs?

Cost

The answer is familiarity, availability and cost. A fixture containing a LED bulb is not as easy to find as one containing an incandescent. Incandescent bulbs are everywhere and it is simple to purchase one, where as you may have to go to a specialist store to find a LED.
Many people see the cost of a LED strip light as a reason why they are not as popular with the public. The initial investment is significantly larger than an incandescent unit: an incandescent bulb will typically cost $1.20 where as an LED bulb will cost $15.98. But this cost will quickly be recouped thanks to the blubs longevity and minimal electricity usage.

LED strip lights and automobiles

LED strip lights are popular with certain automobile enthusiasts. The reason why they are so popular is because of the minimal strain they will place on a car battery and the light output they produce. LED blubs can run on Direct Current (DC) and produce an impressive luminance. This means that no power conversion unit is required.

The multicolored LED lights used to enhance the appearance of a car can be placed around the front grille, under the hood, along the dash or even on the headlights: the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Many strip lights used in automobiles can also be trimmed using a sharp knife allowing you to produce the perfect fit around the chosen area.

LED lighting and solar power

LED lights are also popular with solar enthusiasts. Again, this is because an LED can be powered from Direct Current, the source of power that a photovoltaic panel will produce. So LED lighting is perfect for the environmentally conscious traveler be it in a RV or boat: solar power and LED technology work harmoniously together.
